SHARE Although studying creativity is considered a legitimate scientific discipline nowadays, it is still a very young one. In the early s, a psychologist named J. Guilford was one of the first academic researchers who dared to conduct a study of creativity. He challenged research subjects to connect all nine dots using just four straight lines without lifting their pencils from the page. Today many people are familiar with this puzzle and its solution. In the s, however, very few were even aware of its existence, even though it had been around for almost a century. If you have tried solving this puzzle, you can confirm that your first attempts usually involve sketching lines inside the imaginary square. The correct solution, however, requires you to draw lines that extend beyond the area defined by the dots. Only 20 percent managed to break out of the illusory confinement and continue their lines in the white space surrounding the dots. The symmetry, the beautiful simplicity of the solution, and the fact that 80 percent of the participants were effectively blinded by the boundaries of the square led Guilford and the readers of his books to leap to the sweeping conclusion that creativity requires you to go outside the box.

It is seriously starting to suck the fun out of the game. I am normally placed in gold and it seems nearly every single game I am matched against platinum or even onyx who get a huge amount of kills and have the reactions of a hawk on crack! I am not that level hence why I never get placed in that level so why am I constantly playing against that level.

Something has changed imo it use to be so much more balanced and now it is massively one sided it’s really starting to piss me off!! Please sort it out so only you only play the level you are in there must be enough players in the world playing at any one time for this to be a possibility!

March 10th, Forum Post Server-side Fix A fix was hot-dropped earlier today that fixed the issue of Argon Crystals not being consumed as per: Enemies that have been targeted for Inaros’ Devour are now invulnerable to everything but you while they are being pulled in. Increased the amount of the Ferrox pull force to prevent enemies from meleeing out of the tether. Improved enemy navigation paths in the Infested Salvage game mode. Removed secret enemies from appearing in the Codex.

More fixes towards remaining cases of unreceived quest rewards dating back to November. Fixed Clients being able to throw multiple Javloks and Ferroxs which are then unable to be picked back up. Fixed Clients not seeing gas traps in the Grineer Fortress Defense mission. Fixed a script error in the Grineer Fortress Defense mission. Fixed the Javlok not dealing AoE damage upon throwing it as per: Fixed a script error when throwing the Ferrox.

Fixed a few instances of incorrect localized text.

So having played both games let’s debunk these reasons you have, because frankly, they’re kinda dumb 1. It’s not pay to win, you earn points to buy new champions, and while it’s true that DOTA 2 lets you play all champs, they tend to have HUGE balancing issues with them, and why is that? Because in DOTA 2 if you get fed it’s over, you become so OP that it takes the whole other team to kill you, how is that fun?

LoL Fixed this issue a while back because inless your really feeding, you should always have a chance to come back into the game. I watched whatever champ that shoots ice arrows literally run around the map owning everyone, it wasn’t fun and really felt very unbalanced. Each week LoL also gives you 10 free random champs to try out to see what you think, and while some champs have better ability’s for fighting others it all feels like it’s balanced 2.

This will reduce the effectiveness of the smurfers, but it might increase the amount of games that are unbalanced when people smurf to play with their friends. This should make matchmaking more effective and keep players at their MMR more consistently.

Aug 3, Last edited: Aug 3, Turf War doesn’t count for anything, and so the matchmaking seems to be a little loose. The teams should be randomized each match, though, so you shouldnt be stuck in one losing configuration. If you can make it to level 10, you can do ranked matchmaking. It’s what they do rather than dump all of the modes on you at once. As far as how they form the rooms, I’m pretty sure there’s an unseen “power level” they base off of your wins and loses to others with varying levels as well.

The level next to your name, however, has nothing to do with skill or play ability. Just how long one has owned the game really. It unlocks you some stuff, but isn’t an indicator of balance. I hear friends and new players get intimidated of player levels, but it doesn’t mean much except for one personally. You do probably have less weapon options than someone at level 30 or above, but the weapons are balanced enough and there’s been so many free DLC weapons that you probably have all the same guns, but they just have more kit options.

Still, the balance is good enough that it shouldn’t be an issue.

Even with one huge instance there are ways the game can prevent 50 on 1 matchmaking. I vaguely remember It being mentioned that people won’t be able to lock down systems like they do in Eve. Second, trying to make it so those who are smaller won’t be locked out of areas or game mechanics and those who are bigger will get the huge space battles they want.

It will show up when it shows up – just like “grabby hands” did recently. They Tony Z at least has mentioned using shunting griefers together, for example – but I don’t think these independent yet related systems are designed purely just for that – they legit want to make a challenging game for different player types. I have no idea but I don’t see them just bugging out on core ideas just because instances are capable of being larger.

My guess is that the names may change, stuff may be dropped, new ideas added – but all to achieve what they set out to do in the first place and have pitched to backers since the time of Moses. Much of that may have gone to the great scrap heap on the cutting room floor already with the new Mesh Server approach which replaces the old instancing concept. This was never mentioned but, but all of that shunting, and matchmaking was heavily instance dependent.

The person of interest would be the one thing I can see in your list which would be likely to remain. I don’t like the matchmaker, this is supposed to be a game of skill and that takes the skill out of hunting and defense, it wrecks stealth based game play.

Created on November 11, Halo 4 competative multiplayer unbalanced. I posted this in another community forum last night, but I figured I get a conversation on these points going over here. I’m less than compelled to play the competative multiplayer of Halo 4 anymore. I’m a veteran FPS gamer, and Halo 4, to me, has got to be the most horrid for competative online. First and foremost, the “Matchmaking” is more of a “Connect to Match”, as there really is nothing other than choosing a gametype that allows for any kind of “Matchmaking“.

One huge oversight that I cannot understand why i made, was a setting to match you with players of the same skill level. It’s aggrivating to say the least. What makes a setting to match you with players of the same skill level so important is that it gives more experienced players the challenge of playing against people of the same skill level, and avoids new players the agony of being thrown into a slaughterfest caused by higher level players, as well allows everyone to progress at a comfortable pace to get to the skill level they want to be in while providing a fun experience for all players.

Second, the progression system in unlocking weapons, armor abilities, support ect. Everyone should have equal access to unlocks, period. I won’t make the arguement of “Halo 4 is like CoD” because that’s just a silly argument. What I will say is that what made the Halo experience unique from other FPS games is it put players, new and experienced, on an equal platform, because it didn’t matter how much time you invested into the game, you still had the same access to the equipment you needed to pop the other guy’s head off.

PGI should test switching the matchmaking priorities to balance weight classes first and Elo ratings second to see if the end result is more or less balanced than the current system. I suspect in pug games matched weights have a greater effect on the outcome of the battle than matched Elo ratings.

If you are bronze, you are bad at the game. This is the definition of being bronze. Because your skill is so low, you are not good enough to know what your skill level actually is. Only when you accept this fact do you have a chance of climbing out of bronze. However, this can be used to your advantage. If you have accepted what I said above, you will understand that everyone else in bronze is the same way.

This means your opponents also have no skill, so by having at least one strength you can be better than anyone else in the game. The key to escaping bronze is having one thing you are good at This may not seem to be helpful, but I can guarantee if you do this, you will outskill your opponents and be able to climb. I will give you a recommendation, but it is up to you to discover your strengths as a player and use them to your advantage.

Like any skill in life, being good is something you must figure out on your own, but I will do what I can to help you. What to get good at Farming. Getting good at this will benefit you always regardless of rank. You can be lacking in many other areas, but if you walk into a fight with more gold and more items than your opponent, you will win more than you lose just by pure stats alone. Many bronze players will have CS by 10 minutes and you can easily double this.
